About
Old Dominion University Credit Union
Old
Dominion University Credit Union (ODUCU) was founded in 1958
by two professors at the Norfolk Division of the College of
William and Mary, now known as Old Dominion University.
ODUCU
is chartered by the commonwealth of Virginia, and it is federally
insured through the National Credit Union Share Insurance
Fund. It is governed by the laws of Virginia and operates
within the regulations of the National Credit Union Association
(NCUA).
ODUCU
is a financial cooperative, owned and controlled by its members.
At an annual meeting each year, members vote (one vote regardless
of the shares held) for the Board of Directors which is legally
responsible for the affairs of the institution. The Board
elects its own officers and hires a Manager who is the CEO
and responsible for the daily operations. A Supervisory Committee,
appointed by the Board, has ultimate jurisdiction over the
fiduciary integrity of the credit union.
Our
mission is to provide quality service to members who share
a common bond. Our aim is to meet our members' needs by offering:
loans at reasonable rates; safe and profitable investment
opportunities; and a variety of auxiliary services to our
members.
Our
credit union participates in the professional activities of
regional, state, and national credit union associations.
In
an era of bigness and impersonal business practices, your
credit union still provides courteous, personal service --
but then, YOU OWN this institution!
